Loyalist Township is reviewing its Taxi Bylaw and inviting residents to share feedback through a short online survey.
The township aims to create a modern, transparent, and locally accountable regulatory framework that reflects current taxi industry practices, community needs, and evolving transportation options. Officials say the process will help ensure the new by-law promotes public safety, fairness, and accessibility while balancing the needs of service providers and the travelling public.
Residents, taxi owners, drivers, accessibility advocates, and other interested parties are encouraged to participate. Public consultation sessions will also be held in the coming months.
The Kingston and Area Taxi Commission will continue operating under existing by-laws until September 2026. The online survey closes March 29 at 11:55 p.m. EST, and participants can also submit questions to the project lead.
