Four Kingston Rotary clubs joined community members at Breakwater Park to celebrate peace, unity and inclusion.
Kingston’s first Rotary Peace Pole was officially unveiled Thursday during a community gathering at Breakwater Park.
The event, organized by Kingston’s four Rotary clubs, brought together residents, local leaders and Rotarians to mark Rotary’s commitment to promoting peace locally and internationally.
The Peace Pole features the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in several languages and is intended to serve as a lasting symbol of hope, friendship, understanding and unity. Rotary representatives said the installation marks an important milestone for Kingston and its efforts to build a more inclusive community.
The project was a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Kingston, Rotary Club of Kingston-Frontenac, Rotary Club of Cataraqui-Kingston and Rotary Club of Kingston Waterfront.
