The program provides a forgivable loan to renters and first-time buyers.
The City of Kingston’s Home Ownership Program 2025 is now accepting applications, offering down payment assistance to moderate-income households looking to buy a home.
The program provides a forgivable loan to renters and first-time buyers purchasing a home for $500,000 or less in Kingston or Frontenac County. Funding comes from both the city and the province.
Eligible applicants must currently be renting or buying for the first time. The program aims to make homeownership more affordable for those struggling with high housing costs.
Residents can check if they qualify and apply online through the City of Kingston’s website. The application form is available here.
With rising housing prices, the City says the program offers much-needed support to help renters transition into homeownership.
