20 drivers were charged after a police blitz on Wednesday.
Kingston Police are going to the air to catch distracted drivers.
They are using drones to monitor high-traffic intersections where drivers tend to look at their phones while stopping at a red light.
In a news release, the drones were deployed last Wednesday at three intersections: John Counter Blvd. and Division St., Sir John A Macdonald Blvd. and John Counter, and Gore Rd. and Highway 15.
Drone operators identify the vehicle the driver is in then patrol vehicles would flag them down.
20 drivers were ticketed as a result of this latest enforcement.
Kingston Police say they have been using the drones to find missing persons, track down a suspect, and handle large-scale events.
They say they are able to use this tool to further make roadways safer.
