Kids may also appear tired, confused or complain of muscle cramps.
Public Health urges caregivers to make sure young athletes stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, and wear light, breathable clothing. Coaches and parents should always have water on hand and encourage kids to rest in the shade between plays.
If a child shows signs of heat exhaustion, move them to a cool area, offer water, and use cool cloths to help lower their body temperature. If symptoms get worse, seek medical help right away.
