The broadcaster and best-selling author will help the organization share stories about its community impact across Kingston, Ottawa and London.
Former MuchMusic VJ Bill Welychka is taking on a new role with Lionhearts, joining the organization as its director of storytelling and media.
Welychka became a familiar face to Canadians through his years with MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic. His career has also included work in television, radio and print, along with thousands of interviews.
He has worked in several broadcast markets, including Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa and Kingston, and is also a world traveller and best-selling author.
Lionhearts says Welychka will help highlight the experiences of the people it serves, volunteers, community partners, donors and staff.
Welychka first met Lionhearts founder Travis Blackmore while conducting an interview. He says the experience left a lasting impression.
The organization has expanded across Kingston, Ottawa and London, creating more opportunities to share stories about its community work.
Welychka says he is excited to return to media and contribute to the communities Lionhearts serves.
He says the role brings together his professional experience and his desire to connect people and support communities.
