Francine and Mitch Bedard are moving to Kingston to be close to family.
A couple from Kapuskasing will be moving to the Limestone City after winning the Kinsmen Dream Home lottery.
The draw was held during the first intermission of Friday's Frontenacs game at Slush Puppie Place.
Kingston Mayor Bryan Paterson had the honour of pulling the winning ticket from a drum containing 17,500 entries. The ticket he pulled that night belonged to Francine Bedard.
Bedard spoke with Ben of 98.3 FLY FM's Reid and Ben in the Morning on Monday.
She says she didn't know she won until a family member from Kingston contacted her and couldn't believe it.
Bedard says her decision to purchase a ticket for a chance to win a $1.6 million fully-furnished home in Kingston was a desire to move closer to family.
Bedard says they've always wanted to move to Kingston but were unable to find a home their could afford.
Bedard says they purchased the ticket online soon after it went on sale.
She says she couldn't have imagined how it played out in the end.
Proceeds from the lottery go back into the community.
