The collision occurred on Tuesday in the eastbound lanes east of the Highway 15 interchange.
A two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Kingston sent two people to hospital and resulted in a careless driving charge. The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 27th just after 1:30 p.m. on the eastbound lanes, east of the Highway 15 interchange.
According to the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a sport utility vehicle struck a stationary construction crash truck, which was unoccupied at the time.
Fortunately, no construction workers were injured in the incident.
Both occupants of the SUV sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital by paramedics.
Following an investigation, a 66-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with careless driving under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
The OPP continues to remind motorists to stay alert and exercise caution, especially when approaching construction zones.
