A large cargo truck collided with the rear of a car.
A Brampton man has been charged with careless driving following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Kingston.
The incident occurred on Monday, June 2, just before 5:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the Joyceville Road interchange. According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Frontenac Detachment, a large cargo truck collided with the rear of a car while both vehicles were traveling westbound. Traffic in the area was moving slowly due to ongoing road work.
Frontenac Paramedics responded to the scene as a precaution. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. However, both the truck and the car sustained enough damage to require towing from the scene.
Following an investigation, police charged a 33-year-old man from Brampton with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Motorists are reminded to remain alert and drive cautiously, especially in construction zones.
