University Hospitals Kingston Foundation launches door-to-door donor campaign starting Jan. 26.
Residents across Kingston and surrounding areas may soon hear a knock at the door as the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation launches a door-to-door fundraising campaign.
The outreach begins Jan. 26 and encourages people to sign up as monthly donors to support patient care at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care.
The foundation says monthly gifts provide steady funding for medical equipment, patient comfort items and innovative programs not covered by government funding.
“Monthly donors help our health-care sites be ready for whatever tomorrow brings,” said Lori Faggiani, director of health-care engagement and sustainability.
Trained canvassers, working with partner GlobalFaces Direct, will visit neighbourhoods to explain how even modest donations can make a difference. All canvassers carry official identification.
Residents can verify a canvasser’s identity by calling 1-833-341-0106.
Donations are collected using encrypted tablets that meet payment security standards across the region.
The foundation hopes to recruit more than 750 new monthly donors this year.
