City services, transit and waste collection see changes over holiday weekend.
The City of Kingston is reminding residents that several services will change over the Easter holiday weekend, affecting transit, waste collection and facility hours.
There will be no green bin or garbage collection on Good Friday or Easter Monday. Friday’s pickup moves to Saturday, while Monday’s shifts to Tuesday, with the rest of the week pushed forward by one day.
Kingston Transit will not operate on Good Friday, will run a Saturday schedule April 4, Sunday service April 5, and a regular weekday schedule on Easter Monday. Customer service centres will be closed Friday and Monday.
The Kingston Area Recycling Centre will also be closed Friday and Monday but open Saturday.
Most recreation facilities and administrative offices will be closed Friday and Monday, with limited weekend hours.
Utilities Kingston offices will also be closed, though emergency services remain available.
Most major grocery stores, will be closed Sunday with special hours on Friday.
Most LCBO's and Beer Store's will be closed on Good Friday and Sunday.
