LiUNA Local 183 contribution helps expand programs and strengthen community ties.
Kingston Military Family Resource Centre has received a major donation from LiUNA Local 183 to support programs for military families.
The contribution, announced March 24, will help expand services that build connection and resilience for families facing frequent moves, long absences and life transitions.
Officials say the funding is already making an impact through community activities, including a military family dinner held Feb. 6 at the Vimy Officers’ Mess.
Executive director Colleen Fairholme says the donation will have a lasting effect on the well-being of military families, helping create a stronger sense of belonging.
LiUNA Local 183 business manager Jack Oliveira says the union is proud to support families who serve, adding the initiative reflects its commitment to community and solidarity.
The cheque presentation marks a milestone in strengthening local supports.
The KMFRC offers programs, resources and services designed to connect military families and support them through unique challenges in Kingston and the surrounding region.
