Prince Edward County OPP have charged two men after a serious assault outside a convenience store in Picton.
Police say the incident happened around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, on Paul Street.
A 35-year-old man suffered very serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds and was taken to a regional trauma centre, where he continues to receive treatment. Officers also recovered multiple weapons at the scene.
With help from Tyendinaga Police Service, OPP arrested two suspects shortly after the assault. Twenty-year-old Zachary Larrivee and nineteen-year-old Gavin Lafrance, both from Embrun, have been charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and obstructing justice.
Larrivee also faces an additional charge of attempted murder. Both men remain in custody and were scheduled to appear in court in Belleville on October 28, 2025.
The investigation continues with support from OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services.
