Conditions were almost perfect for the annual Kingston Terry Fox Run.
It was a cool and cloudy Sunday morning at Lake Ontario Park as close to 400 came out to run, walk, pedal or skip raising money for cancer research.
The goal they had set for this year's event is $54,600.
Organizer Kristi Murphy says as of Monday they have raised close to $52,000.
The event honours the legacy of Terry Fox, a man who lost his leg to cancer in 1977 and decided to run with a prosthetic leg across Canada in 1980 to raise money for cancer research.
Murphy says several special guests were on hand before the start of the run.
Andrew and Emily's No Frills on Bath Rd donated bananas and Quatrocchi's Specialty Foods on Montreal St donated oranges for the participants after completing the event.
Murphy says it is wonderful how many turned out for the event and how much money they have raised.
Over $30 million was raised through Terry Fox Runs across Canada on Sunday.
