Fire destroyed the home of George and Peggy Whaley last Friday.
A South Frontenac couple is facing the loss of their longtime home after a fire destroyed their Perth Road property last week.
George and Peggy Whaley lost their home, belongings and personal memories in the Sept. 25 blaze. The couple was able to escape safely.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help George and Peggy cover essential costs as they begin rebuilding their lives.
Organizer Jessie Caird, raising funds on behalf of Terri Lee Whaley, said the couple is now facing the difficult task of starting over.
The fundraiser is seeking $14,000 to help pay for clothing, food, temporary accommodation, household necessities and other unexpected expenses.
As of Sept. 30, the campaign had raised about $12,000 through 75 donations.
Organizers are also asking people who cannot donate to share the fundraiser with others.
You can find the GoFundMe here.
