Police were attending a disturbance call near Barrie and Johnston early Tuesday morning.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating after a 38-year-old man was seriously injured in Kingston early Monday morning.
According to preliminary information, Kingston Police received a call about a disturbance around 4:30 a.m. on September 16th near Barrie and Johnston Streets. When officers arrived, one man fled on a bicycle.
A responding officer followed in a cruiser through a laneway beside 82 Division Street. At the end of the laneway, there was a collision in a cleared area involving the cruiser and the bicycle.
The cyclist was transported to hospital, where he was diagnosed with a serious injury. The SIU has assigned three investigators, a forensic investigator, and a collision reconstructionist to the case.
The agency is asking anyone with information, including video or photos, to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 or submit details online on the SIU website.
