The 30,000 sq. ft. facility inside Modern Niagara aims to build on green technology and innovation.
Kingston's newest green technology operation is now open.
RXN (Reaction) Hub opened their 30,000 sq. ft facility at 945 Princess St inside the Modern Niagara building.
Members of City Council, City administration, Modern Niagara and RXN (pronounced: reaction) Hub board were there on Monday to officially cut the ribbon.
Board Chair Boyd Davis says it is an exciting time to be a part of this initiative.
RXN Hub has partnered with the City to establish Canada’s newest centre for green chemistry innovation and commercialization.
It will feature wet labs, production and testing bays and co-working offices. It will also serve as the anchor for an “end-to-end” innovation pipeline—from lab discovery to production and export.
Davis says companies are looking for infrastructure to help them get off the ground.
The City of Kingston made a $3 million investment into the RXN Hub. This is part of the City's strategy to establish Kingston as a national leader in cleantech business development.
Davis says they hope to drive economic growth in Kingston through sustainable technology.
