Annual food drive ahead of Thanksgiving weekend
Members of the Queen’s Football team will be collecting food and donations for the annual Gaels Tackle Hunger initiative on Thursday, Oct. 10, outside the Metro grocery store on Barrie Street from 2 to 6 p.m.
The event supports the Partners in Mission Food Bank and is a priority for the Gaels each year leading up to Thanksgiving Weekend.
Queen’s Head Coach Steve Snyder says Thanksgiving is all about family, food, and football. He believes the event is a chance to give back and make a difference.
Players like linebacker Justin Pace and defensive back Ashton Miller-Melancon look forward to seeing the Kingston community come together to help those in need.
The Gaels are on a bye week but will close their regular season with the Homecoming Game on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. against the Waterloo Warriors.
