Provincial funding going towards improvement to Harrowsmith park 

South Frontenac received $665,000 from the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.

Centennial Park will be getting some upgrades thanks to a provincial grant.

The Township of South Frontenac announced that they received $665,000 from the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.

The funding is expected cover half of the total costs of improvements at the recreational park in Harrowsmith.

Some of the upgrades being planned include:

- Accessible pathways throughout entire park connecting to all amenities
- Building a new community use facility based on the design of the Gilmour Point Building. This new amenity will serve as a year-round, fully accessible facility.
- Creation of a Disc Golf Course
- Rehabilitation of the large baseball diamond
- The addition of an Accessible/Inclusive Play Structure
- Accessible/designated parking

In a news release, work is being done now and is expected to be completed by the spring of 2027.

Mayor Ron Vandewal said in a statement that the improvements will ensure the park meets the evolving needs of the community.
