Two men were seen carrying a rifle and firing it towards a target in a wooded area.
Kingston Police Service are investigating after gunfire was heard in a west-end neighbourhood.
Two men were seen by a resident in the parking lot of Kingston West Free Methodist Church around 6 pm Thursday.
Investigators say both were firing a rifle into a wooded area off Woodbine Rd. Both fled in a vehicle before police arrived.
Investigators say spent shell casings were discovered at the scene. They believe the suspects were target shooting a sign and barrel in the southeast direction towards Taylor Kidd Blvd.
The suspects are described as adult males, one was wearing a plaid pattered winter jacket with blue jeans while the other was dressed entirely in black and wearing a hooded sweater with a graphic on the back.
Both fled in an early 2000’s model white 4-door Pontiac Grand Am. The firearm is described as a rifle with a mounted scope and sling attached.
There were no reports of injuries.
Anyone who sees the vehicle or the suspects are being asked not to approach them. Instead contact Kingston Police at 613-549-4660 ext 0, 9-1-1, or email bwatt@kingstonpolice.ca.
