Investigators ask for public help identifying individual linked to counterfeit cash incident.
Police in Kingston Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect connected to the use of counterfeit money at a local shopping centre.
Officers say the incident happened on February 23, 2026, at a kiosk inside the Cataraqui Centre. The suspect allegedly used a fake $100 bill to purchase items before leaving the area. The bill was later confirmed to be counterfeit.
Investigators have not released a description of the suspect but are urging anyone who may have information to come forward.

Anonymous information can also be provided by calling the Kingston Police general line at 613-549-4660 ext. 0 and requesting anonymity.
Authorities remind the public to remain cautious when handling cash and to report any suspicious activity.
