Fire set in Princess St business caused about $10,000 in damage, investigators say.
Kingston police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect linked to an arson in the city’s downtown core.
Members of the Kingston Police Criminal Investigations Division say the incident happened on Jan. 7, 2026, at about 2 a.m. A fire was deliberately set in the vestibule of a business in the 300 block of Princess Street.
Kingston Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and quickly put out the fire. Police say the blaze caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to the property. No injuries were reported.
Investigators say they are continuing to gather information and are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward. Police believe public tips could help identify the person responsible.
