A Hamilton youth is facing charges after online threats were made towards a religious institution in Kingston.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were first alerted about threatening messages last Friday (Sept. 12th). It was forwarded to Ontario Provincial Police and then to Kingston Police.
Investigators were able to trace the messages to a home in Hamilton.
A 15-year-old was arrested by Hamilton Police on Tuesday and was transported to Kingston the next day for a bail hearing.
Hamilton Police along with Waterloo Regional Police executed a search warrant at the youth's home to collect evidence.
The youth is also facing a charge of uttering threats toward a secondary school in Hamilton.
Investigators say the religious institution have been kept apprised by police. They say there are no further threats and no other arrests are expected.
