They will be at eight grocery stores on Saturday collecting food, cash and more.
A food blitz is happening this weekend in Kingston.
The Partners in Mission Food Bank will be at eight grocery stores across this Saturday collecting non-perishable food items.
Executive Director Dan Irwin says 1 in 17 people in Kingston and Loyalist Township have used their food bank last year and demand for their services is growing each and every year.
The goal for their food blitz is 25,000 pounds of food and $30,000 in cash.
Irwin says a number of items are in high demand.
A number of factors have contributed to the increase in the demand for food banks.
Irwin says he is grateful for the residents who have helped them get through these challenging times.
