Pace out as Gaels host Lions looking for first win at home

The linebacker was suspended 1 game for a play in last week's win in Waterloo.

The Queen's Gaels are hoping their recent success on the road will translate to wins at Richardson Stadium.

The football team is coming off consecutive victories against Toronto and Waterloo. All three of their wins this season have come on the road, and all in convincing fashion.

Their two losses were against Western and Laurier on home turf.

Head coach Steve Snyder believes his team is coming together at a very important time of the season.

The Gaels (3-2) will look for their first win at home when they host the York Lions (2-2) on Saturday but they will be without one of their star players on defense.

Linebacker Justin Pace was suspended for one game for a violent hit on Warriors quarterback Nick Orr in last week's game. Orr was injured on the play and was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Snyder says no likes to see anyone get hurt like that and the team is fully behind Pace.

Defensive back Ashton Miller-Melancon echoed Snyder's comments.

The Gaels will take on a Lions team that is coming off a loss last week to Carleton.

Miller-Melancon says don't underestimate York.

Snyder says the Lions have made great strides in their football program.

Kick off at Richardson Stadium is 3 p.m.
