Jason Taylor sold Taylor Auto Mall to Myers Automotive Group in August.
A family-owned Kingston car dealership will soon be changing hands.
Taylor Auto Mall has been sold to Ottawa-based Myers Automotive Group.
The dealership has been owned by the Taylor family since 1963, first by Jerome Taylor then his son Jason after Jerome's passing in 2006.
Jason Taylor says he initially wanted to keep the business in the family.
Taylor says the current business climate also led to his decision to sell.
Taylor put the dealership up for sale in February and an offer to purchase came in August.
There were a number of interested buyers but he settled on Myers Automotive Group for a number of reasons.
Taylor says the new owner will keep all the employees and continue to acknowledge their seniority after the sale closes on Nov. 4.
As for Taylor himself, he is retiring from the business but will still lend a hand during the transition process.
Taylor says he has no regrets and will cherish the memories that his family have made over the last 62 years.
