Malcolm died in a motorcycle crash on Hwy. 401 Monday night.
The Ontario Provincial Police will escort fallen Sergeant Brandon Malcolm in a solemn procession along Highway 401 this afternoon, following a fatal collision earlier this week.
Sergeant Malcolm was pronounced deceased on April 27 after a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on Highway 401 eastbound near Burnham Street North in Northumberland County. Police say the procession will depart from the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto around 1 p.m. and travel eastbound to Oshawa.
For safety reasons, only designated OPP and approved emergency vehicles will participate in the escort. Members of the public wishing to pay respects are encouraged to gather on overpasses between Keele Street and Thickson Road South, while avoiding any disruption to traffic or stopping on the highway.
The procession will also be livestreamed by the OPP. Funeral arrangements remain in the early stages, with further details to be released at a later date.
