The Ontario government is investing $6 million through the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP) to support Indigenous communities in building important infrastructure projects.
The funding aims to create jobs, boost local economies, and promote long-term prosperity.
Minister Greg Rickford, Minister of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation, said the program helps Indigenous-led projects that provide economic opportunities and strengthen communities.
The ICCGP has previously funded a wide range of projects, including a new recreation centre in Webequie First Nation, a community and business centre in Anishinabe of Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation, and a multi-use facility in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug.
Applications for the program are open until November 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. EST and must be submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario. Interested applicants need to register with the platform to apply and manage their funding requests.
Ontario says the ICCGP reflects its commitment to Indigenous-led development and economic reconciliation across the province.
