The 2025 KFL&A Children and Youth Community Profiles report has been released, providing a detailed snapshot of children and youth across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington. The report is a collaboration between United Way KFL&A, local school boards, the City of Kingston, Prince Edward Lennox & Addington Social Services, and Southeast Public Health.
This fifth edition focuses on social determinants of health and early childhood development, offering neighbourhood-level data to help service providers, professionals, and community organizations identify areas of strength and vulnerability. The report includes interactive features such as digital maps, custom dashboards, and data storytelling to make the information easier to explore.
Key findings show a 32% growth in families with children under 10 in North West Kingston and that over 80% of one-parent families are female-led. Early Development Instrument data from 2023 indicates that 32.7% of five-year-olds were vulnerable in at least one developmental domain, while physical health vulnerability has risen over the long term.
The report is designed to guide planning, track improvements, encourage collaboration, and inspire community action for children’s well-being.
