Kevin Donaldson steps into permanent role leading Kingston Fire & Rescue.
The City of Kingston has officially appointed Kevin Donaldson as Fire Chief of Kingston Fire & Rescue, marking a major milestone in his decades-long career.
Donaldson, who has more than 31 years of experience, had been serving as Acting Fire Chief since summer 2025. In an interview, he said he feels honoured to step into the role permanently and lead a team dedicated to protecting the community.
City officials say Donaldson has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and a clear vision for the future of the service. Neil Carbone says he has played a key role in advancing the department over the years.
Donaldson outlined his priorities moving forward.
He also highlighted plans for a new station.
Donaldson says he is proud to serve Kingston and remains committed to public safety and collaboration.
