The event is happening this Friday at Breast Imaging Kingston.
Breast Imaging Kingston is turning breast cancer screening into a relaxed, social experience with an evening of mocktails, music and mammograms on Friday, Oct. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event, hosted by Kingston Health Sciences Centre’s Dr. Doris Jabs, aims to make breast screening feel less intimidating during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Women, two-spirit, trans and nonbinary individuals aged 40 and older are encouraged to attend and prioritize their breast health.
“This event is about reminding people that routine screening doesn’t need to feel scary — and that it saves lives,” says Dr. Jabs.
Guests can enjoy refreshments, music and breast health education, while eligible attendees can book or receive mammogram appointments. A mammogram takes less than 10 minutes and can detect cancer early, when treatment is most effective.
