A resident notified police after projectiles entered a home on Boxing Day .
A Sydenham resident has been charged with multiple firearms-related offences following an early morning weapons incident on December 26, 2025.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Frontenac Detachment responded around 2:40 a.m. to a Sydenham Mill Street residence after a homeowner reported projectiles entering their home. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Investigators determined the projectiles were consistent with shotgun fire. A search warrant executed at a nearby property led to the arrest of a 45-year-old man and the seizure of firearms.
He faces charges including careless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm recklessly, four counts of breaching firearms storage regulations, and mischief.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 17, 2026.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Frontenac OPP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
