The family-friendly celebration in Amherstview is free, with no registration required, and offers a full afternoon of festive activities.
Loyalist Township is bringing back its beloved annual holiday event, Light Up the Season, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fairfield Park in Amherstview. The family-friendly celebration is free, with no registration required, and offers a full afternoon of festive activities.
Attendees can enjoy wagon rides, festive music, milk and cookies, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting, ornament making, and visits with Santa and his reindeer. The park’s holiday lights will be turned on for the first time during the event and remain illuminated nightly until February.
Guests are encouraged to park at the W.J. Henderson Community Centre and use the free shuttle service. Parking at Fairfield Park is reserved for accessible vehicles, and parking along Highway 33 is not allowed.
The event is made possible thanks to local sponsors, including Ontario Power Generation, Stock Transportation, Amherstview Foodland, Amherstview Lions Club, and the Lennox & Addington County Dairy Association.
Loyalist Township is also hosting Holiday Trees at five heritage sites with free ornament kits for community decorating.
