The Yarker native recently competed for Canada in the winter games in Italy in bobsledding.
Yarker native and local Olympian Jay Dearborn says his second trip to the Winter Olympics was a very different experience than his first.
Unlike Beijing in 2022, this time there were no COVID restrictions. Fans, friends, and family were able to watch and cheer.
We also asked Dearborn about the playful post-race interviews he did with teammate Mike, in the style of hockey. The idea started as a joke during summer training.
The segment was well-received by fans across the country!
Back home, Dearborn is working with the Boys and Girls Club to inspire local youth. He wants to show kids the value of sports and STEM.
Looking ahead, Dearborn is unsure about competing in the next Olympics but remains passionate.
