The annual TD Tree Days event has been held in Kingston for 16 years, bringing volunteers together to support local green spaces.
About 63 people gathered at Lemoine Point Conservation Area on Saturday to plant roughly 350 trees as part of TD Tree Days.
The event took place Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon, with volunteers taking part in planting and other activities to support the area’s green space.

Participants received gardening gloves and a planting demonstration before getting to work. Volunteers were prepared for physical activity, including digging, lifting and planting, as well as tasks such as mulching, securing mulch mats and watering. Forestry coordinator Haven Collins says planting after dry summer months is ideal for trees.
TD Tree Days events are hosted by local not-for-profits, municipalities and Indigenous groups focused on environmental stewardship.
The Kingston event has been held annually for 16 years. Organizers say the program has helped plant thousands of trees in communities across Canada.
Saturday’s volunteers continued that tradition by adding hundreds of new trees to Lemoine Point.
