LDSB athletes took home medals at OFSAA track and field championships

The KSS Jr. Girls relay team had one of two gold medals for the school.

Athletes from schools in the Limestone District School Board did pretty well at the OFSAA track and field championships in Toronto.

The games were held at York University's track and field centre in Toronto on June 5, 6, and 7.

Wyatt Lee of Frontenac Secondary School took home gold medals in the Sr. Boys 100m and 200m races.

The Kingston Secondary School Jr. Girls relay team (Caitlyn Wimmer, Mara Barrows-McLagan, Amaya Barrows-McLagan and Marina Playter-Tuffs) also won gold while fellow student Athena Andrecyk won the Sr. Women's 3000m race.

Other athletes who made the podium include:

Vicky Malik of KSS in Novice Girls 800/1500m (silver)
Sierra Carroll of LCVI in Intellectually Imp. Shot Put (bronze)
Declan Cowan of FSS Jr. Boys Disc Throw (bronze)

Three more KSS students had strong finishes in their respective events:

Claire Simmers finished 4th in Women's 800m Ambulatory
Amaya Barrows-McLagan finished 4th in Women's 80m hurdles
Luqmaan Brewster finished 4th in Jr Men's Triple Jump
