Paul W. Osborn and Jason N.C. Turnbull received honours from the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs.
The Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs (OAPC) has recognized 130 paramedics from across the province with the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal. The award ceremony took place on September 25 and celebrated recipients from 37 of Ontario’s 57 paramedic services.
Local recipients from Lennox and Addington include Paul W. Osborn and Jason N.C. Turnbull.
The medal honours those who have served at least 20 years, including 10 years in active field duty where personal risk is involved. It can be awarded to active, retired, or deceased paramedics who have shown exceptional dedication and professionalism.
The award was first created in 1994 by the late Governor General Romeo LeBlanc as part of the Canadian Honours System. Since then, more than 3,700 Ontario paramedics have received the medal and bars.
OAPC President Chief Greg Sage said it’s an honour to recognize the compassion and commitment of paramedics across Ontario.
