The City of Kingston is reminding residents about service changes and closures for Labour Day on Monday, Sept. 1.
Garbage and green bin collection will not run on the holiday, with pick-ups delayed by one day. The Kingston Area Recycling Centre will be closed.
Kingston Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule, while Kingston Access Services will offer limited on-road service. Administrative offices, including Housing and Social Services, the Provincial Offences Court, banks, and post offices, will be closed, as will Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro, though utility emergencies can be reported through the 24-hour emergency line at 613-546-1181.
Many recreation and cultural facilities, including INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, Frontenac Public Library, Kingston Grand Theatre, PumpHouse Museum, and Tett Centre, will be closed. LCBO locations will also be closed, while Beer Stores will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Culligan Water Park and Portsmouth Olympic Harbour will remain open. Residents are encouraged to check online resources for digital services and holiday updates.
