City opens 2026 Civic Awards to honour volunteers of all ages making a difference.
The City of Kingston is calling on residents to nominate outstanding volunteers for its 2026 Civic Awards, recognizing those who make a difference in the community.
Nominations are open until May 1st and celebrate individuals ranging from lifelong contributors to young leaders. The awards highlight the impact of volunteer work and aim to inspire others to give back.
The First Capital Distinguished Citizen Award honours a lifetime of service, while the Honourable Achievement Awards recognize specific contributions. The Mayor’s Awards for Youth Volunteerism spotlight young people up to age 24 who show leadership, compassion or resilience.
Residents can submit nominations online or in person at City Hall and local recreation centres.
All submissions must be received by 4:30 p.m. on May 1 and will be reviewed for eligibility before being considered by a selection committee.
