Tourism spending, jobs and tax revenue all increased in Kingston last year, according to a new economic impact report.
Kingston’s tourism industry generated $538.9 million in visitor spending in 2025, a 5.3 per cent increase from the previous year.
The figures come from a new Economic Impact Assessment prepared by Rockport Analytics for Tourism Kingston, released ahead of World Tourism Day on Sept. 27.
The report says 2.65 million visitors came to Kingston last year, up 2.8 per cent from 2024.
Tourism spending supported $215.4 million in wages and 4,401 jobs across the region. Tourism remains Kingston’s 10th-largest employer, accounting for nearly four per cent of non-farming jobs.
Visitor activity also generated $162.1 million in tax revenue, including $24.8 million for local governments.
Food and beverage accounted for the largest share of visitor spending at $225.9 million, up 7.5 per cent. Accommodation generated $135.8 million, while transportation brought in $80.7 million.
