Utilities Kingston has launched its new Climate Action Leadership Plan, a bold strategy aimed at cutting emissions, improving sustainability, and building climate-resilient infrastructure across the city of Kingston.
As the community’s multi-utility provider, Utilities Kingston oversees energy, water, and essential services, putting it in a unique position to lead on climate action. President and CEO David Fell says the plan focuses on reducing emissions, helping customers conserve energy and water, expanding services like electric vehicle charging and heat pump programs, and strengthening local infrastructure.
Many of these initiatives are already underway, including upgrades to improve system reliability and programs that help residents use resources more efficiently.
The plan also supports Kingston’s goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2040. Utilities Kingston says climate action is a shared responsibility, calling on residents, businesses, and community partners to work together.
The full plan is available at UtilitiesKingston.com/CALP.
