Garbage collection, city offices and some facilities will close, while transit and several recreation services continue as usual.
Several Kingston services will change Wednesday as the city observes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
City Council declared Sept. 30 a civic holiday in 2021 to encourage employees and the community to observe the day.
Garbage and green bin collection will be delayed by one day, with no collection on Sept. 30. The Kingston Disposal Site will also be closed.
City administrative offices, including Housing and Social Services and Provincial Offences, will be closed, along with the Grand Theatre box office and PumpHouse Museum.
Kingston Transit will operate its regular weekday schedule, while the Kingston Access Bus will provide regular service.
Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro will remain open.
Several recreation facilities, including the INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre and Rideau Heights Community Centre, will also remain open.
The Kingston Frontenac Public Library’s branches will be open, with hours varying by location.
