Road work ahead!
The City of Kingston is investing $40 million in road projects in 2025, with work ramping up this spring.
Crews will tackle maintenance, repairs, and full roadway reconstructions to improve safety and accessibility. Residents will notice pothole repairs, crack sealing, and asphalt treatments, as well as larger-scale projects like new intersections and crossings.
The City aims to extend the life of existing roads while upgrading infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users.
Full road reconstructions will involve replacing the road base and surface, often including underground utility upgrades.
The City continues to assess roads for maintenance needs, with new project locations added throughout the year.
A full list of planned roadwork is available on the City’s website, along with maps detailing active projects.
As construction season gets underway, drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and stay informed on road closures and detours, we'll be bringing you the very latest at KingstonDaily.ca and through our three local radio stations.
