Kingston police are searching for an inmate who was unaccounted for during a count at Collins Bay Institution on Thursday morning.
Police say 49-year-old Mason Jenkins was discovered missing during the 11:15 a.m. count at the institution’s minimum-security unit on Sept. 24, 2026.
Jenkins is described as a white man who is 5-foot-9 and weighs about 255 pounds. He has a fair complexion, brown eyes and brown hair, which is currently shaved bald.
Police say he was last seen wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans and rubber boots.
Jenkins is serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Kingston police are asking anyone with information about Jenkins’ whereabouts to call 613-549-4660, extension 0.
Police say anyone who sees Jenkins should not approach him and should call 911 immediately.
