A light green Ford Edge was seen in parking lots of shopping centres and grocery stores.
There is more information about an ongoing scam in Kingston.
Police have released a photo of a vehicle that they say was being driven by a family of four or five.
Investigators say the scam involves a man, woman and 2-3 children approaching elderly residents in parking lots of grocery stores and shopping centres asking for directions to local hospitals under the pretense of making a charitable donation.
They say the victim is offerred a gift for their assistance, which consists of costume jewellery.
Investigators say the suspect places a ring or necklace on their target, they remove the victims existing jewelry without the victim being aware.
The vehicle in question is described as a light green Ford Edge with personalized license plates.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have had an interaction with the family or have seen the vehicle to contact Kingston Police at 613-549-4660, ext. 0.
