The City purchased the 80-acre property off Front Rd for $12 million.
The City of Kingston is the new owner of Lemoine Point Farm.
In a news release, the City has completed the purchase of the property at 2000 Front Rd for $12 million.
They say this will provide flexibility to keep the land open to the public and to ensure it is protected as they plan for its long-term use with input from the community.
The City was able to buy the 80-acre land after a court-approved settlement reached after years of confidential negotiations related to the property.
They say this will enable the City to expand their plans for the waterfront and develop partnerships with non-profit organizations such as the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority.
A full report is expected to go before Council on Mar 24.
