The walk takes place this Saturday.
Kingston will host the 2025 Canadian Walk for Veterans on Saturday, bringing the community together to support veterans and military families.
Organized by the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) in partnership with the Order of St. George, the event carries the theme “Honouring the Past; Supporting the Journey.”
KMFRC Veteran Family Program Coordinator, Andrea Pritchard talks more on why events like these are important.
Participants can register online or in person at KMFRC, 32 Lundy’s Lane, with fees ranging from $10 to $25. Walkers can choose a 2.3 km accessible route or a 5 km scenic path through Fort Henry Hill and the Royal Military College campus.
The day features guest speakers, live performances by Music Healing Veterans, the Canadian Military Wives Choir, and ceremonial appearances by PWOR Pipes & Drums and the Royal Canadian Legion.
A free community BBQ and the Portraits of Honour mural from the Military Communications & Electronics Museum will follow the walk. Funds raised will support True Patriot Love Foundation and local veteran services.
