Kingston council approved a $300,000 plan to improve food access in the city.
Director of Community Wellbeing and Development Ruth Noordegraaf said the Food System Framework focuses on multiple pillars, including economic growth.
Other areas of focus in the framework are food access, infrastructure and distribution, education and literacy, production, and food governance.

Council approved $200,000 for the 2025 budget with the remaining $100,000 from revenue accrued from the Fines for Food program.
