The fund supports projects that reduce emissions, conserve energy, and build climate resilience
Charities and non-profits in Kingston are invited to apply for the Kingston Community Climate Action Fund (KCCAF) to support green projects.
Since 2020, the KCCAF has helped local groups reduce greenhouse gases, protect biodiversity, and promote sustainability. The fund matches public donations up to $15,000, with additional matching up to $5,000 from Kingston Community Credit Union.
Last year, $30,000 was raised for Extend-A-Family Kingston’s Growability Hydroponic Greenhouse, which trains youth and adults with disabilities in sustainable agriculture.
Julie Salter-Keane, Manager of Climate Leadership, says the fund helps organizations start or grow climate projects that benefit the community. Fundraising runs from December 2025 to March 2026.
Interested groups can apply online through MyKingston and find details at the City of Kingston's website.
