Utilities Kingston has delivered water, wastewater, electricity, natural gas and fibre through a single multi-utility model.
Utilities Kingston is marking a major milestone, celebrating 25 years of providing integrated utility services that remain unique in Ontario.
Since 2000, Utilities Kingston has delivered water, wastewater, electricity, natural gas and fibre through a single multi-utility model. The approach was created when provincial rules forced municipalities to restructure their services.
While many communities separated their utilities, Kingston chose to keep them connected, ensuring local decision-making and community priorities stayed at the forefront.
“By putting local priorities first, we have delivered dependable services while building strong partnerships,” said David Fell, president and CEO of Utilities Kingston. “This milestone is a tribute to residents, city leaders and employees who provide the services people rely on every day.”
Over the past 25 years, Utilities Kingston has modernized infrastructure, expanded fibre networks and advanced conservation and safety programs, laying the groundwork for future innovation and climate leadership.
